Those that walk in gratefulness, walk in fullness.
With Thanksgiving coming this week, I have been reflecting on the past year and what I am most thankful for. The one thing that stood out to me is simply the love of God. As Graham Cooke was speaking to us about first love during one of the sessions at Aglow National Conference, God was imparting fresh truths to me of His unending love. He was showing me pictures of His love in personal ways. I started to write about them in a poem. Isn’t it wonderful how God speaks to each of us in unique ways?

Though I am not a poet, I wanted to share what God has been saying to me. May God speak to each one of you in a personal way about the depths of His love.
First Love
On a hot day
When I forget my water
Parched for hours
First sip of cool water
You are that Refreshing Stream
River of Life
Supply that doesn’t run dry
Wet wintery day
No way to avoid it
My fingers are numb
My toes I can’t feel ‘em
You are that Hot Fire
The Cozy Blanket
In every season
The Holy Spirit
My ever present Comforter
Long busy day
Schedule demanding
Body is tired
Feet in need of a rest
You are that Lazy Boy Recliner
That forms to my body
I can rest in the safety
Of Your open embrace
For with you I am always Home
Annoying mosquito
Disturbing in the night
Finally find it
Squash…sweet relief
You give Truth
From the nagging lies of the enemy
Silence my accusers
Make me sleep in peace
Full, busy week
Eating on the go
Go by mom’s house
Favorite meal spread out
Dessert with ice cream on top
You prepare a table before me
In the presence of my enemies
You fill my mouth with good things
Never short of Fullness
Basketball game against #1 team
Down by 2, 5 seconds left
Get off a 3 point shot
Swish, nothing but net
You give me strength
When I am weak
Always leading me to victory
What looks impossible
Is possible with You
First high school dance
Feel kind of awkward
Will someone choose me?
Yes, the most handsome
You are my eternal dance Partner
Through all paths of life
You are that first glance
First and last dance
First Love
May you take time this week to reflect on God’s truths and say thank you to Him for all He has and continues to do. I was reminded this week how important gratefulness is in my devotions from Luke 17:12-19, The Message:
As He entered a village, ten men, all lepers, met Him. They kept their distance but raised their voices, calling out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”Taking a good look at them, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”They went, and while still on their way, became clean. One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at Jesus’ feet, so grateful. He couldn’t thank Him enough—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus said, “Were not ten healed? Where are the nine? Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?” Then He said to him, “Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you.”
This man was not just cleansed of leprosy but healed and saved as well. Those that walk in gratefulness, walk in fullness.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Great job sweetheart!
